Nine Great Reasons to become a Member 

1.     Government Relations & Regulatory Affairs

COHA plays an important role with provincial and federal government regulators, ensuring the issues of the industry are made known to government decision makers, and offering workable solutions in a timely manner.  COHA National works closely with the provincial chapters to develop integrated and sustainable policy positions for the industry. 

2.     Member Alerts

The Association’s primary communication tool for topical issues is the Member Alert, and is largely distributed by e-mail.  Member Alerts provide quick assessments and key messages on important issues such as fuel oil pricing, government relations initiatives, new industry initiatives, and other important topics. 

Member Alerts are available only to members of COHA, and help to support a common message and response from a united industry.

3.     Public and Media Relations

Another key communication tool for COHA Ontario association is the use of news releases to help inform other sectors and the public about important initiatives and policy positions of the association.  As the voice of the oilheat industry in the province, COHA must position itself as the go-to organization for the media and other groups to find out about issues affecting the oilheat industry.

4.     Technical Support

COHA Ontario members receive the benefit of a quick response technical support line, supported by technical experts from the industry.  Inquiries regarding regulatory compliance matters, code changes, training and certification requirements, and general technical matters are responded to quickly and in a clear and concise manner.  COHA tracks all inquiries, and uses these responses to develop collections of best practices and made available to members.

7.     Industry Database

COHA acts as the single largest collector of research and statistics for the Canadian oilheat industry.  COHA’s information database makes use of data from a variety of reliable sources, combined with specific research initiatives undertaken by COHA.  COHA’s goal is to provide Canadian-specific data that is so desperately needed.  COHA National maintains the central repository of information comprised of national and provincial information sources.

As a COHA member, you have access to member-only services on the COHA National website, coha.ca, including detailed daily Degree Days reports across the country.  This data is archived to allow users to do comparisons as well as access the latest daily reports at the touch of a button.

8.     National Symposium

COHA hosts a national symposium each year, showcasing new technologies and innovations in the industry.  As the industry’s largest national event, COHA’s Oilheat Symposiums put its members in direct contact access with the people and organizations affecting the industry, and provides you with the tools you need to grow your business and improve the services you provide your customers.

Each Oilheat symposium includes a trade show with Canada’s oilheat manufacturers and service providers, allowing you to talk directly with the holders of the answers to your questions.

9.     Education & Training

COHA is dedicated to continued learning and training throughout the industry.  Working with a variety of partner organizations and government regulators, COHA is the leader in the development of national and provincial training programs on a variety of topics and servicing relevant regulatory certification requirements in each jurisdiction.  COHA members are able to participate in the latest training programs available to ensure a continued commitment to high quality service delivery to oilheat customers.
