Report on Meeting Series held in September 2009 for Ontario Members and Non-members
Fuel distributors and contractors in the oilheat industry in Ontario were invited by COHA Ontario President, Bob Rowe, to the Chapter's LET'S TALK series of meetings last September. The five meetings, in London, Mississauga, Peterborough, Ottawa and Sault Ste. Marie were a resounding success.
Staff and Board Members from the association value such opportunities to get direct feedback from both members and non-members on key operational issues impacting our oilheat business today and into the future. COHA Ontario also welcomed the opportunity to share the latest news about the Chapter's training, marketing and risk management initiatives. From a survey of the oilheat professionals at the Septembers meetings, here is what they told us...
“COHA Ontario priorities are very much aligned with my business”
“…am taking away important prevention practices and procedures to apply immediately”
“Doing an excellent job on tank issues and insurance concerns”
“[about risk management] I will sleep better now”
“This meeting provided a forum to secure valuable information...this organization is moving to a new level”
“Amazing presentations ...very knowledgeable ...great topics”
“Very pleased COHA Ontario is working hard at incorporating programs to address our concerns ...making a better and less stressed industry”

Without a doubt, one of the highlights of the LET'S TALK meetings was the presentation regarding the COHA Ontario Risk Management Program for fuel distributors and contractors. Insurance broker representative, Lyne Erwin, Senior VP, Marsh Canada Limited, outlined highlights of the program including personalized risk assessment and analysis, pollution insurance, exclusive loss remediation solutions, and cutting-edge best practices for claims management.
